From the web site of the Arkansas Secretary of State;
What To Expect When Voting
- An election official will ask you to state your name and address and confirm your date of birth.
- The election official will ask you to provide identification. The following documents are acceptable: a current and valid photo ID or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter.
- If you’re unable to provide ID, the election official will note it on the Precinct Voter Registration List, and you may vote a regular ballot.
- If you registered by mail after January 1, 2003, and did not submit the required ID with your voter registration application, you may be required to show ID to vote a regular ballot. If you don’t present ID, the election official will instruct you on voting a Provisional Ballot.
- In a primary election, you must state the party primary in which you wish to vote. If you do not wish to cast a party ballot, you may choose to vote only in the non-partisan races (which may include judicial contests, tax increases and other local issues).
- In a primary election, you are allowed to vote only one party’s ballot or the non-partisan judicial ballot. The election official records which party’s ballot you choose.
- Next, you will sign the Precinct Voter Registration List, and the election official will add your name to the list of voters.
- The election official will give you a ballot or direct you to a voting machine.
- After setting the voting machine, or handing you a paper ballot, the poll worker will leave you in private. You are allotted 5 minutes to vote.
- You will go alone to a voting booth and mark your ballot. You are allotted 5 minutes to vote.
- If you vote a paper ballot, you will deposit it into the ballot box or an electronic scanner.

From the web site of the Secretary of State of Arizona;
A State that actually, currently, subject to change, does NOT require a photo ID to vote!

This is just the basics of registering to vote in Alaska from their Division of Elections “How To” page;
“If you need to register to vote or update your voter registration record, you (or an individual with a general power of attorney or special power of attorney authorizing that individual to register you) must complete a Voter Registration Application.
Send your completed application to a Regional Elections office. You may send your application by mail, fax or email as an attached PDF, TIFF, or JPG file.
Registration applications are also available at any Division of Elections office, at Division of Motor Vehicles, through a voter registration agency or voter registrar.”
There is further information at that site about how to register if you’re living outside the State or trying to register by mail, fax or email.

The requirements for Voter ID in the State of Alaska seem relatively tame compared to a lot of the rest of the states (as of today).
From their State of Alaska Division of Elections web site;
“When entering your polling place, the election worker will ask you for a piece of identification. The following documents may be used for identification:
- signed voter ID card, driver’s license, state ID card, or military ID card;
- passport, hunting or fishing license; or
- other current or valid photo identification.
You may also present one of the following forms of identification if it includes your name and current address:
- current utility bill or pay check;
- government check or bank statement; or
- other government issued document.
After presenting identification, you will sign your name on the precinct register. When doing this, check your residence address listed. If your residence address is incorrect, tell the election worker and vote a questioned ballot. This will allow the Division of Elections to update your voter registration record with your correct residence address
If you do not have identification or your name does not appear on the precinct register, you must vote a questioned ballot.”
I especially like this little tidbit from the NCSL web site: “An election official may waive the identification requirement if the election official knows the identity of the voter. A voter who cannot exhibit a required form of identification shall be allowed to vote a questioned ballot.

This goes back a couple of weeks yet is still pertinent and another good reason to stay aware and educated regarding your personal voter requirements!
From the great state of Maine – “state GOP Chairman Charlie Webster explained it was necessary to disenfranchise the thousands of Maine voters” so they are removing same day voter registration that has existed in Maine for better than 40 years.
Did you just ask why? Well, here’s the pertinent quote;
“Republicans typically justify these voter disenfranchisement laws by claiming that they are necessary to combat voter fraud at the polls”
Of course in their paranoid delusional state they seem to have failed to notice;
“A recent Supreme Court decision upholding a voter ID law was only able to cite one example of in-person voter fraud in the last 143 years.“
The wasted gray matter is astounding…
